I would recommend Matt Lee to anyone looking for a driving instructor, in the Pontefract/Castleford area. He is one of the best qualified in the area, with one of the highest first-time pass rates also, which is what made me go with him in the first place. He also has the use of an in-car camera, that films your lessons, which helps when you make a mistake to go back and analyse it. Once I started my lessons, it was easy to see why his pass rates are so high. Matt not only teaches you to pass your test, but to drive to a high, safe standard aswell. He's a very likeable guy, who I got on really well with during my lessons, and was actually sad once I passed that I'd no longer be having lessons with him. I passed first time, with only 5 minors, and that is all down to Matt's superb teaching. I really can't recommend him highly enough. Cheers mate!

Matt lee is a great driving instructor as well as a friend. I started having lesson with him in February and passed my test first time with only 4 driving faults on 11/11/11.
On the day of my test I was that nervous I was feeling sick, Matt saw are nervous I was and went through some breathing exercisers with me and to be honest I thought it was funny and laughed at him, but when I got to the test centre I when to the toilet and did the breathing exercisers were no one could see me and I must say they calmed me downed a lot I felt a lot more relaxed. I would recommend Matt to anyone that is looking to start driving he taught my mum and my boyfriend and go us all through our tests.

I thoughly enjoyed learning to drive with Matt. It wasnt like a typical lesson, i felt confident around him and felt i could chat with Matt. Before my test he also did breathing exercises with me, which helped me and calmed me down a great deal. I found that Matt genuinlly wanted to help and tried to teach me in the best possible way that benefitted me and how i learn. He also went at a teaching pace which was best for me. Not to mention his car is really nice!

Passed first time with matt, he’s a great instructor and understands the importance of a good teacher pupil relationship. I was learning with matt for just over 10 months and since starting he has always told me i’ll be honest with you and did so throughout. Matt is really great to get along with and is always up for a laugh which makes the learning experience even more enjoyable. He not only teaches you to drive but how to do so safely. Before my test I was extremely nervous and was scared they would get the better of me but matt reassured me and taught me some breathing techniques which really helped. I couldn’t have passed without his help and expertise. I would defiantly recommend him to everyone he’s a great driving instructor and i’m pleased to have had the opportunity to learn with him.

I have been learning with Matt for some time and have now passed my driving test. I enjoyed every lesson I had as I felt comfortable and could chat with Matt about all sorts. At the start of my lessons, he promised me he would always be honest with me and he did just that. If I was to do something incorrect, he would go through the mistake with me and that helped a lot. He not only learnt me to drive, but to drive safely and this is the most importance aspect of driving. I now have my own car and feel more confident driving alone than what I what I thought I would. Before my test, he did breathing exercises with me and this seemed to help a lot as i felt more calm and ready. I recommend Matt to anyone who is ready to learn to drive as he is a fun and friendly guy and you will be learning with the best instructor around here....and in a very nice car! :) thanks for everything Matt and watch out for me on the road!

I was recommended to Matt by a couple of friends so I was learning with him for nearly 8 months and have enjoyed every minute of it. He is funny and easy to get along with, and you can talk to him about pretty much anything. When I first started learning to drive, he told me that he would always be honest with me and he stuck by that all the way through. He understands the importance of developing a good teacher pupil relationship which means you can be honest with each other and have a more enjoyable experience of learning to drive. When learning to drive, Matt doesn't just teach you how to pass your test, he teaches you how to drive safely and be more aware on the road. He also taught me how to get over my nerves before my driving test, because I was very nervous beforehand and scared I would fail because of it. I strongly recommend him to anyone about to learn to drive, he's a brilliant driving instructor and I'm grateful to have had the pleasure of learning with him.

When I started to learn to drive I wasn't sure I would enjoy it, however I began to love it due to Matt's teaching and personality. On the driving side of things he's a great instructor who is able to help you sort out any problems whilst being patient. He's also able to have a joke with you and keep a positive mood, which is something I thought made the experience even better, and made me enjoy each lesson. He was also very approachable, often reassuring me that "There is never a stupid question". Even when as a pupil I had made a big mistake he is able to rebuild your confidence by reinforcing what you can do and what you know, never making you want to quit or give up. He has also introduced the use of a camera in the car which is beneficial to anyone learning, as you are able to watch over previous lessons and refresh your memory, or see where you need to improve. After passing my test with just 2 minors I was very happy with myself and very thankful to have been able to have the lessons from Matt, and would recommend him to anyone even just considering starting lessons.

I had learnt with 3 different instructors before deciding to switch to Matt as my sister passed first time with him and sung his praises at how good he was. There was quite a few times when I felt like giving up as I had been learning for so long but Matt kept me positive and made me see it would it be silly to give up when I had come so far. He never made me feel stupid when I asked questions about things I didn't understand and went through things thoroughly and was extremely encouraging.

Not only is Matt one of the highest qualified driving instructors in the area – he is also the best. Matt provides a professional, yet personal approach to driver training and tailors every lesson to your individual needs. His teaching is at such a high standard he doesn’t teach you to pass your test, he teaches you to drive safely and because of this I now feel confident driving on my own. In my first lesson with Matt I felt that i had learnt more in that one hour than all of my lessons beforehand. I had failed twice before with two previous instructors, and had lost all confidence. However, Matt's approach to teaching put me at ease and boosted my confidence. I had very limited time available to do my lessons, but he found the time i needed far out of the hours i was expecitng, he'd teach you at midnight if you needed it! He's highly professional but also extremely down to earth, this is shown by the calliber of his lessons and his drving qualifications. He's a fun guy to be around which makes all the difference when your having 2 hour long lessons. I couldn't think of anyone who would be more suited to teach people to drive. I passed straight away with only 3 minors with Matt and would highly recommend him to anybody whos starting out learning or finding it a struggle. Not only did i get my driving license, I made a good friend too! Thanks for everything Matt, really appreciate it.

I started learning to drive with a different driving school but I soon got disillusioned with their way of teaching. Matt was recommended to me by a friend and from the first lesson I was really glad I changed. Matt is exactly the sort of guy you want to have as a driving instructor because he's friendly and approachable so you can have a laugh while you're with him yet he never fails to say things as they are which really helped me to learn to drive and especially how to think about things on the road. I would HIGHLY recommend Matt Lee as a driving instructor. He not only teaches you how to drive safely and well enough to pass your driving test, but also teaches you driving skills that will last you a lifetime. He is very friendly and approachable and this attitude makes every lesson with him a pleasure to take. I took my first driving test 17 years ago and failed, and learning with Matt is only the only attempt since then that I have made at taking my test and am very happy to say that I passed first time with only three minor faults. First of all i would like to say a HUGE thank you to Matt, who has been such a support, great help and who is bloody good at his job.

At 8 months pregnant and with a deadline to pass my test he turned what could have been a very stressful situation into an enjoyable, productive and successful one. I have had three other instructors over the space of about 2 years. Matt could have easily done what the others did and try and teach me his method of driving and taken me back to basics, costing me more money and taking more time. But, he didn't. Each session was catered to what i needed to work on and the only focus was safety!

I was once told ' once you've passed you won't need to drive like this' by another instructor believe it or not. What a crock! Matt won't teach you how to pass, but how to drive safely which in turn enables you to pass your test!

A no-nonsense but friendly and approachable guy who you can have a laugh with, he's not going to try squeeze every last penny from you, but simply help you on your way to becoming a safe and successful driver. A pleasure to learn with, i would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn to drive, no matter what your skill level. His teaching methods are flawless.

I was extremely nervous on my first lesson but Matt quickly put me at ease and always made my lessons fun and enjoyable. I passed my driving test the first time with Matt Lee (with only 3 minors) after failing three times previously with a different instructor. I'd had a break from driving after my failed tests and desperately needed to get my confidence back. I chose to learn with Matt because of his extensive qualifications and his lovely Mini, which I really enjoyed driving.
Matt is very professional but also really easy to get along with; he makes lessons fun and I looked forward to learning more each time. Matt helped me with my observation a great deal which in turn has made me a better driver and massively improved my confidence on the road (previously I had a nasty habit of missing give way lines and stop signs!).
On the day of my test I was still a little nervous but wasn't panicking or shaking as I had before; I think because I was more confident in my improved driving ability and also had Matt sit in the back of the car during the test too which reassured me. Matt's teaching style and experience has enabled me to become a better driver; driving confidently on my own now and even on the motorway!
I would recommend Matt to anyone looking to be a good driver and especially anyone who was in my situation.... so happy that I'm now part of his great pass rate! HUGE thanks Matt! x

I found Matt Lee professional, dependable and fanatical about driving which provided me with confidence, enabling me to pass my driving test the 1st time with 3 minors. Matt is a delight to be around and can be approached whilst being professional at the same time.
At first, I was anxious and uneducated about driving however; my driving knowledge, ability and confidence expanded over a short period of time due to Matt’s encouragement. Matt did not put me under any anxiety at all at anytime but listened to me and provided support whenever I required it. Matt was my 1st driving instructor and I’m delighted I decided to opt for him.
Overall, I would recommend Matt Lee to anybody who is thinking of taking driving lessons due to his wide range of abilities and in general his approach towards getting the best out of new drivers and coaching them basic and sophisticated knowledge of the roads. What can I say about Matt Lee, I was so nervous on my first lesson and straight away he put me completely at ease, he’s easy-going, patient and he makes the lessons enjoyable! From each lesson I could see myself progressing and getting more and more confident because he had faith in me when I felt I was struggling… and gave me confidence and the encouragement I needed to improve.
He is so dedicated and passionate about the job which shows in his teaching, - he teaches his pupils effective methods of how to drive safely - he doesn’t teach just to pass the test and now I feel really confident on the road.

I came to Matt after a few (well more than a few really) failed tests, a couple of different instructors and a yearlong break from learning. I explained the problems I'd had and that I suffer panic attacks under test conditions. Matt wasn't phased by any of it!! He teaches in a completely different way to the other instructors. He's relaxed and really knows his stuff!! He tells it as it is too, no beating round the bush at all, and he always praises when you've done well which I found a massive help as he was pointing out things which I didn’t notice were coming naturally. He makes things seem so easy and bumped my confidence way up! Now I’ve passed and am so confident driving myself and my children around and it’s thanks to Matt’s excellent teaching methods. I’d had lessons before but not really progressed, so my sister recommended Matt (she passed her test first time with him). He really put me at my ease when I was nervous at the beginning, and as I became more confident he continued to add more complicated stuff, always going at my own pace. He’ll never rush you over anything you’re unsure on, and really knows his stuff. He can answer any question you throw at him, which makes him better than the average instructor who will only teach you how to pass your test, not be safe. Now I’m out driving about on my own, I’m confident that I know what I’m doing as I had such good instruction. With Matt’s help I passed on my first test with only 3 minors and can’t recommend him highly enough.

When I was with my previous instructor I hated driving lessons but that soon changed when Matt taught me to be an overall better driver. Matt came highly recommended to me by a friend who had passed first time with him. When I started driving lessons with Matt I went from driving the same route on quiet roads (with my previous instructor) to driving to a variety of places on main roads, which increased my competence and confidence as a driver.
Matt didn't just teach me the skills I needed to get through my test but also the essential skills needed to stay safe on the road. It gave me great confidence knowing that I was been taught by one of the most highly qualified instructors in the area. My confidence was at rock bottom but matt soon sorted that out. I was hard work but Matt's patients shone threw. I looked forward to every lesson with Matt because I was learning so much from him. Matt made lessons enjoyable and every lesson was different.

After failing miserably my other 2 tests with previous instructors, I was recommended Matt by a friend and after only 5 months of learning, I passed at the 1st attempt with only 4 minor faults.

I had lessons with a well known company to start with, I didn't feel like I was progressing. The company I was originally with who was teaching me was actually a trainee driving instructor. I was recommended by two friends to go with Matt Lee, so I started driving with him. It gave me more confident to know that Matt was a highly qualified driving instructor. I felt as though I was progressing more and more each lesson, they where enjoyable and fun, but he is extremely honest and critical which has allowed me to be the driver I am today. It was extremely difficult to get out of my old habits which I had with my original driving instructor, but these were all ironed out the with time by matt. Matt is the best driving instructor around. Every lesson was enjoyable, he is a really easy going, friendly guy. Driving lessons can be very nerve racking and stressful but when you start your lessons with Matt all that disappears, he makes learning to drive fun. At times it was very difficult and I wanted to give it all up but Matt sticks by you and makes sure you succeed. Matt is very committed to his job and committed to making sure his pupils succeed. Passionate. That is the one word I would use to describe Matt. Passionate about teaching, his job and making you a safer driver. I started driving lessons with Matt after a recommendation by a friend, and since my first lesson I never looked back. He is flexible when it comes to booking lessons, honest and reliable. He gave me clear and achievable goals for each lesson and I could see my confidence grow with each lesson. Matt turned out to not be the stunned faced instructor that I'd dreaded and his humour and character eased my nerves of my first lesson. Matt may criticise on what might seem minor errors but he does it for your own good. I didn't think I was ready for my test when Matt told me to book it however it showed that he had the confidence in me to pass. I passed first time 6 weeks later.

My name is Danny and I had previously been having a few lessons with another driving instructor but had to cut that short, but after having a few hours with Matt teaching I realised that the last instructor didn't help me learn much at all.
Matt's teaching, knowledge and professional style made me want to try my best on every lesson and I felt I progressed a lot after each time we went out.
I passed my driving test first time with only 1 minor fault which I was so happy about and it was all down to Matt's teaching. The good thing about Matt's teaching style is not only do you learn a lot about driving but he finds your faults and expands them so you understand more about why it is a mistake and what possible problems it can cause.
I hope to be driving for as long as I can now and I'm just really happy that Matt got me this far.

I chose to have driving lessons with Matt after hearing really good recommendations from some friends. Matt went out of his way to make sure he could fit you in when you wanted, even if that meant working late into the night! I was very nervous when I had my first lesson but Matt talked me through everything I needed to know before I began driving the car, which made me feel much more relaxed and confident. Matt also gives pupils a driving book which monitors your progress with driving and manoeuvres which I found very helpful. Matt didn't rush or pressure me into booking my driving test, which meant I felt prepared on the day of my exam. We did a mock exam on the run up to my test which prepared me to what would happen on the day of my test.
After passing my test first time with only 3 minors (which is the average minors pupils get with Matt, this is a great credit to Matt and shows his dedication and commitment to pupils. And proves Matt’s skills as a driving instructor!) I proceeded onto Pass Plus which was definitely an adventure and greatly improved my confidence driving on the motorway, also driving through the middle of Leeds which I never thought I would be doing!
Matt is strict, but only to get you driving to your best ability, he also makes driving lessons very fun and enjoyable. I will definitely recommend him to anyone else who is looking for a great driving instructor!

I had driving lessons with Matt around 5 years ago when I was 17 years old. Matt was the first and only driving instructor that I had. Matt is passionate, dedicated and committed about his job and will aim to make sure not only can you pass your driving test, but that you are also a safe driver.

I got on really well with Matt. He was really flexible about lesson times, and about where I could be picked up from before the lesson and dropped off after the lesson. Matt gave me clear goals that I needed to achieve, and was honest with my progress. I didn't feel that I was rushed into taking my test nor did I feel that less ons had dragged on for too long. I passed my test first time, and got no minor’s, A clean sheet!!! I feel that this shows how well Matt teaches, and the standard he teaches to.

I can honestly say that Matt is a Kind, Hardworking and Funny guy, and will make sure that you become a competent and safe driver.

Before choosing matt lee I chose another driving instructor from someone else’s recommendation it was a nightmare! He even made me cry haha! Thankfully I knew quite a few people who had matt lee as a driving instructor so i decided t o give him a ring and I have no regrets what so ever. Matt lee seemed to teach me a lot quicker and I learnt a lot more. I passed first time with only four minors. I found the lessons with matt calm and he had a lot of patience, although at stop junctions he might often slam on the brakes so just remember to stop haha.

Although the lessons aren’t as cheap as other driving instructors it is definitely worth it – after all you only get what you pay for! And having knew about Matt Lee before hand I would have definitely have gone to him first, you definitely won’t go to another driving instructor. I have also recommended one of my friends which had a previous driving instructor and she is now currently learning with him. My sister also used matt and passed first time. One thing is matt wont put you in for your test unless you are ready and it shows a lot through his great pass rate! Thank you!

I started to take my driving lessons as soon as I turned 17, I had another instructor at first though who I learned to drive with for twelve months. I did not feel I was getting anywhere and was refereed to Matt, by a few friends who highly recommended him.Some instructors aren't very prompt or interested but Matt was totally different is flexibility and dedication shone straight away.

On my first lesson he explained everything thoroughly to me and explained what we would be aiming for over the next few weeks, I was then given a book which helped me to keep track on my progress and set targets for the weeks to come, I found that the book also with the constant encouragement from Matt helped me to carry on going and see what I had achieved when the times got tough .Believe me driving to me looked a doddle but it weren't,some people picked it up easy but not me ha ! it needs a good instructor with time and patience to help you get through it. I found my confidence very low when behind the wheel due to me being in a car crash at the age of 14, Matt helped me to overcome my fear even though I used to throw the teddy out of the cot ha ! and pass my test.

I highly recommend Matt and wish that I would have used Matt right from the start his constant patience encouragement and dedication helped me to pass my test THANKS MATT ! ! ! PS if you decide to chose Matt you will never need a second instructor ! and he will try to the best of his ability to work round you for lessons even if it is twelve at night ha only kidding ! oops sorry Matt ! his pass rates amazing so don't mess about book your first lesson!!!

Anyone would be in good hands having Matt as their driving instructor. I gave him a ring after hearing several glowing reports from friends and I must admit I was rather nervous (I’d previously been with another guy who’d hit me with a bottle when I did something wrong!!) but Matt was welcoming, friendly and never violent! I’d be the first to admit I was a difficult pupil and took a while to grasp even the easiest of manoeuvres. Matt was patient, kind and full of constructive criticism. He gave me the assurance that things would eventually click and sure enough he was right. I passed my test first time with only 3 minors and proceeded onto Pass Plus adventures in the Mini which gave me even greater confidence in driving. Without Matt’s tolerance, humour and experience (not that he’s old) I’d never be as competent a driver as I am and I give him the greatest of heartfelt thanks.

I tried learning to drive a few years ago but didn’t get very far because I was so nervous! I left it for a while and a friend told me to go to Matt Lee so I thought I would give him a go. Matt was very calm and patient with me (I’m sure that was a challenge!) I was very nervous and didn’t think I could learn to drive, never mind pass my test! Matt was great! He was always calm and he gave me lots of confidence that I didn’t have, he was very patient with me but he knew the right times to push me on and keep me moving forward! When Matt said it was time for my test I didn’t feel ready and thought I had no chance of passing, but he insisted he knew best and that I was ready! He was right! I passed first time with only 3 minor faults!!!! Aswell as being a great Driving Instructor he became a good friend too, he was always friendly and he made the lessons fun! I would definitely recommend Matt Lee to anyone learning to drive!!!

Matt's lessons are in-depth, practical and informative which should give any learner the confidence to develop into an accurate, capable driver. In my lessons Matt was always very professional but made the lessons very enjoyable. Matt always pushed me to my limits within a sensible time limit. When I thought I couldn't do something Matt would always prove I could do it. Even after a bad driving lesson I would always be told how I could improve but it was always emphasised what I did correctly. During lessons Matt would also help me with my theory work which I passed first time, I also passed my driving test first time with two minors. Matt was a very good driving instructor and made my driving lessons fun and made me thoroughly enjoy learning to drive. His learning technique seems to stick and now after nearly two years of driving everything I've been taught is still there and still helping me learn on new roads and routes. Thanks Matt and I will recommend him to anyone else who wants a reliable and good driving instructor.

I thoroughly enjoyed my driving lessons with Matt. He was often a hard task master and I sometimes thought he was 'picky' but soon realised that it was for my benefit. I felt relaxed when I was having my lessons and I personally feel that Matt was the best instructor I could have had. Due to his good teaching I passed with only 4 minors on my second test. If I had not made a stupid mistake on my first test I would have passed with no minors

I chose Matt Lee as my driving instructor due to several excellent recommendations that I had heard about him. He proved to be a highly competent instructor; my lessons were always well planned and enjoyable. Matt is very approachable and easy to talk to, plus very thorough and after I passed my test I felt like a safe driver thanks to him. I passed second time and received 6 minor faults; after I passed I also did my Pass Plus course with Matt. I really enjoyed my driving lessons with Matt. He had a professional approach. Each lesson was thorough, helpful, varied, yet fun at the same time. My confidence grew as I saw myself improve each time. I passed my driving test first time with only three minors.
